Civilized Iran will win over US logic of brute force: FM spokesman

The spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry has reacted to threats by US President Donald Trump to bomb the country into submission, saying that a civilized Iran will certainly win over the logic of bullying.

“The power of a CIVILIZED nation's culture, logic, and faith in its righteous cause will undoubtedly prevail over the logic of brute force,” Esmaeil Baqaei said in a post on his X account on Tuesday.

The remarks came after Trump released a new post on his social media platform, Truth Social, threatening that he would annihilate Iran's civilization with a massive bombing campaign starting late on Tuesday.

Trump has been threatening Iran with attacks against its power plants and bridges if it does not accept a deal to open the Strait of Hormuz. 

Iranian authorities have said that Tehran will not accept a ceasefire without guarantees that observe Iran's legitimate dedemands.B

aqaei said that Iran would not back off from efforts to protect its legal rights and will do its utmost to safeguard the country's freedom and sovereignty.

“A nation that has every faith in the righteousness of its path shall harness all its capacities and capabilities to safeguard its rights and legitimate interests,” he said in the X post.

The comments come as Iran continues to fight a US-Israeli aggression that started in late February.

The country has responded to assassinations and attacks carried out by the US and Israel inside Iran by striking various targets related to the US in regional countries and locations in the Israeli-occupied territories.

Iran has also imposed tight restrictions on transit via the Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway in the Persian Gulf which is responsible for a fifth of global oil demand.

Authorities have indicated that the war will only end on Iran's terms and conditions and when the aggressors are fully punished.
